Reference Management Software
Reference management software tools are helpful for collecting literature references and bibliographies; they are also interfaces between database searches and the resulting academic text.
Functions of reference management software
- To record, collect and organize literature information in an individual database
- To import literature references, where appropriate with the relevant full text, from databases and online catalogs
- To import literature references into the text document, as citations in the text, as footnotes or endnotes or as a bibliography
The University Library offers advice and courses for different reference management software tools, including Endnote, Citavi, Zotero, Mendeley and BibTeX. Please consult our German website for further details about the courses currently offered (in German).
