Roundtable: Building a different Russia – possibilities, visions and values
Thursday, 2024/11/28, 18:15
The Russian war on Ukraine must be stopped and Putin’s rule must end: on those points most opponents of the current regime in Russia can agree. But what comes next? The roundtable brings together different voices from politics, political science and NGOs to explore and debate short- and long-term visions for Russia's future – different ideas for new political frameworks, social systems, economic models and visions of civic life. What would it take to implement new policies, but also to effect the societal change needed to build a different post-Putin Russia? Eva Maurer (University of Bern) and Jan Matti Dollbaum (University of Fribourg) will be discussing with Maria Sinitsyna-Rossen (Future Russia Switzerland), Alyona Vandysheva (anti-corruption expert and activist), Oleg Zhuravlev (sociologist, Public Sociology Lab) and Greg Yudin (Igrec.io, Princeton University). The discussion will take place online.
